Gardening & Growing

Building Skills and Serenity

Our Gardening & Growing program offers neurodivergent individuals a hands-on way to develop practical skills and connect with nature.

Empowering Through Gardening

As a member of the Care Farming Network, the ACRES Project offer various horticultural opportunities for individuals with autism and other disabilities.
-
Aquaponics & Hydroponics Greenhouse: Funded by a Centre Foundation grant, our aquaponics greenhouse provides employment opportunities, job skills training, and community integration. Participants care for koi fish and grow flowers, microgreens, and salad greens in this sustainable indoor agricultural method.
-
Outdoor Vegetable Garden: Established in 2023, this garden provides space to grow tomatoes, peppers, melons, and other produce, expanding the horticultural experience.
-
Farm Stand: Our farm stand offers a community connection and entrepreneurship opportunity, allowing participants to sell produce from the gardens and greenhouse.
Let’s Grow Together
Join our Gardening & Growing program to cultivate both plants and personal growth. Participants engage in all aspects of gardening, from planting seeds to harvesting crops.
Our garden is a space for learning and connecting where participants work alongside peers and mentors. The skills learned here can translate to job opportunities for you in horticulture and beyond.
There's a place for you in our garden, whether you're new to gardening or have a green thumb. Let's grow together and nurture both plants and friendships in a supportive and enriching environment!
